Kris, the studying parent
As a busy parent of an active teenager and someone with ADHD, Kris uses Genio Notes to maintain focus during her studies.

Balancing on study and parenthood
Kris Anderson returned to higher education after 14 years which presented a number of challenges, including being a parent of an active teenager.
"He plays a lot of sports and other activities. So it's hard for me to focus because I have to give him rides. So as soon as I start studying, it seems like I have to go pick him up to take him here, take him there."
This constant interruption, coupled with her ADHD diagnosis, created a barrier to her academic success.
The shift to a predominantly digital learning environment also felt unfamiliar and intimidating.
"Everything was different. It was all on computers, so I was a little hesitant."
However, Kris discovered a useful ally in Genio Notes. "Using Genio Notes, I've been able to capture all the lectures," she shares.
"I've been able to type in my own notes at the same time. So, that's been been very helpful."
Genio Notes' ability to seamlessly integrate lecture recordings with live note taking proved invaluable.
"Instead of writing notes on paper and trying to catch everything, having the PowerPoint right there in front of me, I'm able to take more condensed notes, which has helped me out a lot."
Genio Notes has empowered Kris to engage more with the course material and facilitated deeper learning and improved comprehension.
"I would say that Genio Notes has made a big impact on my studying because it allows me to hear the lecture again instead of trying to remember, word-for-word what the professor said."
This streamlined approach significantly reduced Kris's anxiety and allowed her to focus on the core concepts. Plus, Genio Notes has significantly boosted Kris' confidence when her studying can be interrupted by the demands of parenthood.
"As a parent, with everything going on with my son's activities, I find Genio Notes very helpful because I can stop in the middle of what I'm studying and pause on that part instead of trying to figure out where I left off on my notes."
