How Genio helps STEM students: A preview of the 2026 Learner Impact Report
With our annual Learner Impact Report due to be published in March 2026, we want to share a sneak preview of some of our findings for one group in particular: STEM students.
Every year at Genio we conduct a survey of how Genio Notes has impacted students. With the full report being published in 2026, we wanted to share a sneak preview of some of our findings with our STEM students in particular.
The report revealed a critical trend: STEM students are the largest group of Genio users, representing 31% of our total users!
This statistic is more than an adoption rate; it is a clear indicator that Genio is successfully addressing the profound executive function and comprehension challenges inherent in high-detail, fast-paced STEM learning environments.

Why STEM students love Genio
STEM students using Genio Notes were 46% less likely to consider dropping out
The high pressure and complexity of STEM education often correlates directly with student anxiety and attrition risk. Our data reports that before using Genio Notes consistently, 70% of STEM students felt stressed about their studies, which is 10% higher than non STEM students.
We know that persistent feelings of stress and a lack of confidence can have a profound impact on students, perpetuating the disengagement cycle and raising thoughts of dropping out or changing majors, not to mention the emotional strain it can have on students' wellbeing.
Our data shows that STEM students who used Genio Notes long term were 50% less likely to consider changing majors compared to new users, and thoughts of dropping out also decreased by a remarkable 46% (4.6% of new users vs 2.5% of long term users).

77% of STEM students feel more confident in their studies with Genio Notes
At Genio, we value the holistic impact of our tool, focusing not only on hard metrics like grades but also on crucial indicators of student well being, such as confidence and stress levels.
This is especially vital for our largest user base, STEM students, where high-stakes content can significantly impact mental health and academic persistence.
Genio acts as a crucial tool for stabilizing student mindset and executive function for STEM students:
- 77% of STEM students reported a significant increase in confidence in their studies thanks to Genio.
- 76% of STEM students reported feeling less stressed about their academic workload.
- 60% enjoy studying more (compared to only 30% of new users).

The data demonstrates a clear link between Genio utilization and a shift toward proactive, confident learning, mitigating the high-stakes anxiety that often drives talented students away from STEM pathways.
“Before, my stress was at a 10,but with Genio it is down to at least a 3 or less than that. I am grateful for this tool.”
