New product alert! Introducing Genio Present
Discover Genio Present, our new tool launching January 2026! Designed to help students reduce presentation anxiety and build lasting communication skills through structured practice and feedback, to support them throughout college and beyond.
Presentation anxiety is a major barrier for many students, with 78% reporting feeling worried or overwhelmed before a presentation. Despite this, 81% believe they can improve with the right support.
This is why we created Genio Present.
Genio Present helps learners to turn presentation anxiety into confident, repeatable performance through a structured process of practice, self-reflection, actionable feedback, and visible growth.
Why we built Genio Present
With assessments being such a source of anxiety for students, yet such an integral skill, we wanted to create a tool that empowers every student, including those with anxiety or learning differences, to participate confidently and equitably.
- The anxiety-confidence gap: Only 6% of students surveyed felt confident before a presentation.
- The support burden: Over half (53%) of educators frequently support students with presentation anxiety, yet only 20% felt very confident that their current methods build long-term communication skills.
- The assessment dilemma: Nearly 40% of students ask for alternative forms of assessment because the anxiety feels too great. This removes the opportunity to build vital communication skills, which is the whole point of the assessment.
We believe the opportunity lies not in changing the assessment but in improving the experience before the assessment. Genio Present fills the gap in supporting independent practice and feedback.
Key features of Genio Present
Genio Present is simple and intentional, supporting students every step of the way.
Structured rehearsal process
- Goal setting: Students are prompted to set a specific goal for each rehearsal (Such as improving confidence or reducing filler words) to break down the big task into manageable chunks and reduce stress.
- Flexible setup: Rehearsals can be tracked with a title and an optional timer (useful for students with ADHD). Students can choose to use their camera or not, and set up a screen share using any platform (PowerPoint, Google Slides or PDF).
Reflection and feedback
- Confidence tracking: After each rehearsal, learners rate how confident they felt, aiming to create an "upward spiral of confidence" as they see their scores improve.
- Self-reflection notes: As they watch their recording back (video, audio, and transcript), students can add timestamped notes to themselves, noting strengths and areas for change. The transcript includes disfluencies (like "ums" and "ers") so students can track and improve their speech patterns.
- AI-generated insights (Optional): The tool provides optional, AI-generated feedback that is specific, actionable, and positive. This feedback is entirely responsive to the presentation and covers themes like confidence of delivery, content recall, use of filler words, and storytelling/engagement.
- Asynchronous feedback: Students can generate a shareable link to send to a trusted person (like a peer, tutor or coach). The recipient can then watch the recording and also leave timestamped notes, providing specific external feedback.
The value of Genio Present for your institution
Genio Present is designed to enhance essential life skills and streamline institutional support. Practicing presentation skills doesn’t just build confidence for assessments, it allows students to build a level of confidence in themselves that they’ll use throughout college and beyond, such as in job interviews and the workplace.
- Builds confidence and communication skills for life: It focuses on helping students develop confidence, communication, and self-awareness, skills needed both in class and in their careers.
- Simplifies inclusive assessment: Managing presentation accommodations is complex and time consuming. Genio Present gives support teams a single, consistent, and equitable way to support all learners. It's managed through the same Genio Admin platform as Genio Notes, ensuring ease of deployment.
- Empowers independent students: The tool enables students to take ownership of their learning by practicing and reflecting independently. They can get feedback asynchronously from peers, tutors, advisors, or the built-in AI, reducing reliance on time consuming one-to-one coaching.
- Support all learners, not just those with accommodations: While designed with accessibility in mind, Genio Present benefits every student. It normalizes support for presentation anxiety and helps create a culture where preparation and self-improvement are part of everyone’s learning experience.
Genio Present will be available to institutions from January 2026. To find out more about the product and how you can add it alongside your existing Geno Notes package, book a call with one of our sales team!
